Accessing Case Studies for Organizational Leadership

Leatherby Libraries subscribes to a number of databases that provide full text access to business, management, and organizational leadership related case studies. Below is a select list of databases along with search tips. You can access any of the following through the Organizational Leadership online research guide at http://chapman.libguides.com/content.php?pid=29463&sid=215430.

*Emerald Full Text’s Case Study Collection (Coverage: 2001 – Present)
Once you link to Emerald Full-text (from the link above, under “Organizational Leadership Related Databases”), select Teaching Zone from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. At the Teaching Zone page, see Case Studies Collection on the lower right-hand side. To search, select the “case studies” link. At the search interface, not the options in the “All fields” dropdown menu.

Business Source Premier
Search Tip: In addition to conducting keyword searches in this database, you may try including study and case study as a search term, and limit to “AB Abstract or Author-Supplied Abstract” in the “Select a Field (optional)” dropdown menu, since often case studies are identified as such in the abstract (of course, this may also bring up other types of studies as well). You can also further limit your search if you are looking into a particular company or organization by selecting “CO Company Entity” from the “Select a Field (optional)” dropdown menu.

Business Full Text
Again, you may want to try using the terms case study or study as a search term. You can also limit to a NAICS code through the “All – Smart Search” dropdown menu.

Business Management and Business Industry:
You can search both these databases through the same interface by using the “Search in database” dropdown menu. To check full text availability of any item in your results list, click on the title of the item, and at the next page look to the section titled Availability and click “Search the catalog at Chapman University Library.”
