The International Encyclopedia of Communication Online Now Available!

Leatherby Libraries has just purchased The International Encyclopedia of Communication Online:

“The online version of a 12-volume reference spanning the breadth of communication studies, including coverage of theories, media and communication phenomena, research methods, problems, concepts, and geographical areas. Arrangement of 1,400 newly-commissioned A-Z entries, divided into 29 editorial areas. Co-published by the International Communication Association (ICA).”

To give you an idea of the types of information available through this encyclopedia, some of the entries include “Rhetoric and Gender,” “Advertising, Cross-Cultural,” “Consumer Culture,” and “Addiction and Exposure.”

Are you ready for the summer?

Hi all,

Welcome to Summer Session! Remember there are plenty of library resources to help you with your summer class assignments. So, get a leg up on your research by familiarizing yourself with the Leatherby Libraries' website that includes special pages just for CUC library users: www.chapman.edu/library/centers.

You will also want to review the CUC Guide to Library Servcies and Resources, which includes important information on how to find books, articles, style guides (APA, MLA), and much more. Also be sure to search by subject to learn more about library resources pertinent to your subject area/major (at the CUC Library Services and Resources page, click "Find by Subject" under "Conducting Research).

Finally, you will want to create an ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan account for yourself for future use in the case that you need to order books or articles not available through Leatherby Libraries (we borrow them from other libraries for you!).

Feel free to contact me, Annie Knight (aknight@chapman.edu, (800) 344-5756 Ext. 2), your CUC Virtual Librarian, at any time with your research questions. And, if you have questions regarding your individual library accounts, please contact CUC Library Assistant Amanda Melilli at acladocs@chapman.edu or (800) 344-5756 Ext. 1.

Faculty: Please inquire about library instruction for your class by contacting me at aknight@chapman.edu or (800)344-5756 Ext. 2.

I look forward to hearing from you!
-Annie
