CUC Library Instruction for Spring 2009

Guide to Library Resources

Happy Holidays!

Faculty, you are welcome to begin requesting library and research instruction sessions for your Spring I classes. To view my availability, please see my library instruction calendar. Contact me at aknight@chapman.edu / (800) 344-5756 Ext. 2 to discuss the particular research focus of your class.

Research Tip:
Looking for the full text of a particular article? Use the Journal Finder!

Whenever you want to find out if Leatherby Libraries provides access to particular articles through our electronic databases or print collection, you can use the Journal Finder. To access the Journal Finder, take the following steps:

  1. Begin at the Leatherby Libraries homepage: www.chapman.edu/library
  2. Click “Find Articles”
  3. Once at the Find Articles Page, click the blue Journal Finder bar
  4. Once inside the Journal Finder, type the title of the journal (NOT the article) where the article you are looking for is published.
  5. The next page will tell you if full text articles from the journal are available through one or more of the Library's online databases and/or print collection. Be sure to check that the publication date of the article you are looking for fits within the date ranges next to these listings.

If the Library does not provide access to the article, you may order the article through Interlibrary Loan. To set up an Interlibrary Loan account, go to http://chapman.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/illiad.dll. Please read the ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan Policies and Procedures at http://chapman.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/FirstTime.html.
